I love Madrid. I realised that anew today. Riding home by bike from the University…(Yes, I now have a bike – will tell that story soon =) stay tuned!) seeing the four towers from afar…Plaza Castilla…going down the Paseo de la Castellana…getting soaked in the rain! Going by the huge Flagstaff with a flag of Spain…
I love Madrid. I love the streets. The parks. The mountains and forests in the city’s surroundings…
I love Madrid. I love the sights, sounds, smells, tastes…the feel of the city.
I love Madrid. I love how its so international and all the world is at home. All fit in.
I love Madrid. I love the strangers I see in the metro, train, streets and sometimes wonder where they’re coming from…where they’re going…why they’re smiling, upset, angry, crying…
I love Madrid. I love my friends – my “family” – so many incredible, kind, lovely people I have had the privilege to get to know and who encourage and challenge me in the way they love and serve God!!!
I love Madrid. My University with it’s beautiful campus, Sports facilities, friendly professors and fellow students.
I love Madrid. I love my church, my youth group, evangelism with on-the-red-box in Puerta del Sol.
I love how we’re experiencing God in little and big things and learning to trust HIM more.
I love how we’re able to share with people in the streets, challenge them to think about their eternity, about the way they have broken God’s commandments and aren’t good enough to enter heaven…
I love being able to tell them the amazing good news of Jesus Christ and how his death on the cross and resurrection make it possible for us to have a relationship with God and to receive the gift of eternal life!!!
I love Madrid. Love walking through the streets at night with all the pretty lights…to go down random little alleys and peek through the windows of the bars where people are enjoying their beer and tapas…to pass by the huge palace or to head across the bridge over the river Manzanares…love to walk and get lost as I try out a new route and thus get to know yet another beautiful corner of this fascinating city…
